I finally had a breakthrough with A1. She ate two bowls of eggs, some oatmeal with blueberries, beef lasagna, sweet potatoes, Cheerios, and bananas. The secret? Don’t make it a big deal. Just hand her the food. What to Expect said, “Make it exciting. Say, ‘Loooooook what I haaaaaaaaave'”. Hell, no. Do you want the toddler to refuse the food?
I’ve also gotten her to drink milk from a cup with a straw—win! M doesn’t even do that. She’s still taking several bottles a day. Now I will have only one child taking a bottle, and A2 hardly ever does—unless I’m gone.
Oh, did I mention she ate carrots, too?
The fight is over…for now.
